How do I set up Slack integration?

Real-time Slack Notifications from Continuum

We understand that not all of your team members may be logged into Continuum at all times, but they still need to stay updated on the progress of your workflow, publishing, and purchases. With this feature, executives and managers can receive real-time notifications on Slack when articles are scheduled and/or published.

Currently, this feature supports Articles only. Products, Events, and Pages are not supported.

Installation

  1. Determine what channel in your Slack workspace notifications will be sent. Create a new Slack channel if necessary.
  2. Your Slack admin will need to enable incoming webhooks to allow Continuum to post messages to your Slack channel.
  3. In your Continuum admin tool, update the following two system settings:
    1. slack.notifications.enabled = true
    2. slack.notifications.url = webhook URL

Usage

Executives and managers who are not regularly logged into Continuum now have real-time visibility to when articles are scheduled and/or published via Slack notifications.

Editors will continue to create articles in the Article Manager.

  1. Immediately after an article is scheduled, a Slack notification will be pushed to the designated Slack channel that reads, Article ID: #### has been scheduled to live at [date] at [time].
  2. Immediately after an article is published, a Slack notification will be pushed to the designated Slack channel that reads, Article ID: #### has been published.

The Slack notifications are sent in real-time and will appear in the Slack channel in the order that they were scheduled and/or published.
